18-day flex
I know it's soon since the contract was ratified, but just wondering how the flex schedule is working out. The 7/7 schedule is not my thing and I understand only the top 20% get the 15-day schedules. So that leaves 18-day schedules if I was to apply and get hired.
Also, what defines "overtime" and "extended day?"
Edit: I re-read the schedules and noticed it's 18-day FIXED. Either way, how's it working?

I don't have my contract with me (in a hotel), but I think up to 40% of the pilots in each seat can be on the 18-day schedule. It's a fixed schedule...you just won't know where you're going until the night before, just like on the 7&7.
As far as overtime, anything over 12 hours is overtime, except on day 1. On the first day of the tour, any duty before 0800 is overtime, plus anything after 9 hours is overtime.
If the company fails to get you home by midnight on your last day, you get paid for 2 extended days. I'm on the 2nd year pay scale and for me, that's about $485 per extended day.

Nobody has done the new 18 day fixed schedule yet since it doesn't start until February 1st. The schedules come out the 15 of the month before so I'll soon see what I got for next month since I will be on that schedule.
Also the 15 day reserve schedule is capped at 10 percent per fleet and seat. I believe approximately 20 percent of the pilots (out of a possible 40 percent) elected to try the new 18 day schedule and only one fleet had pilots that wanted it and were unable to hold it.

news to me. i havent heard anything about 18 day schedules. the only thing i know of is based on 15 1/2 days. i usually do 16 and a lot bid down to 14.
the new compensation has a prefered bidding for 17 days, whatever that really means is to be seen.

I believe Metrodriver is talking about the schedules at Flexjet- the first post did ask about the flex schedule, but all the other answers were about the schedules at NetJets. We now have answers for whichever it was that the original poster asked about.
