Default Pay and Schedules for NetJets new hires?

Can someone in the know please give a brief overview of salary, initial schedule and benefits that a new hire can expect in the first four to six months of employment?

I see that there are three schedule types with three different pay schedules. Which one are you on when you start training and when do you transition to one of your choosing?

During training can a new hire expect to be away from "base" for the entire period of initial training from start to finish? Or does the company provide air travel to and from base during periods of inactivity? (ie. weekends, or down time between indoc, systems and sim)

Of the three schedules, what can a junior pilot expect to hold. Do more senior pilots gravitate towards the 7 on 7 off schedule or the more lucrative (at first glance) 18 day fixed?

Many more questions to come but I think that this is a start.

I believe you are paid the 18 day rate while training. Benefits begin day 1. I don't think they send you home on the off weekends. (Although you do come home after indoc) Flight training start depends on what aircraft they put you in, but I think you get at least 5 days off before it starts ( some have got several weeks)

Pay is based on the 18 day schedule from day 1. Full benefits on day 1. I'm not going to get into them, but you will be hard pressed to find better ones out there. You pay a co-pay and that is it. They cover all your premiums.

You start out on the 18 day schedule. There are 3 bids a year, each lasting 4 months. The next one runs from Oct 1 to Jan 31. After you finish IOE, you can bid in the next open window.

The 15 day schedule seems to be the most senior. If you can't hold that, you will be able to hold the 7/7 or 18 day. The encore plus is a very small fleet and I don't believe they have the 7/7 option yet.

They fly you out and back for indoc. It will last 2 weeks. You can go home on your own dime for the weekend, but I would not recommend it. You will get a min of 5 days off after indoc. Some get more, it all depends on the fleet.

Sim/ground school is a long time to be away from home, and they will not fly you home. I only had 2 days off (not concurrent) during the 23 days anyway, so don't expect to be traveling. Length of time is fleet dependent, but plan on spending about 2+ to 3 weeks away.

Rental cars are provided, so you're not trapped in the hotel the whole time.

Is it less than say 14 months in Iraq or 8 months in Africa???

Let’s put things in perspective folks. Its short and no big deal!

Just curious. Are you better off financially bidding 7/7 and picking up overtime, or 18 days schedule ? Is there a lot of overtime available ?

Also, I am not sure I understand the fundamental difference between the 15 days and 18 days schedule. Could someone explain ? and don't say that the difference is 3 days

Thank you.

*Read post below* The 15 day actually pays a higher daily rate because it is a flexible schedule and the company can move your days around. You can't have a trip longer than 5 days and then you have to have 3 days off after the 5. The 18 day is fixed and you have your schedule by the 15th the month prior. The way to get extra money is not getting home by midnight, so if you want the most money pick our base with the worst WX, SYR comes to mind as a top choice. Also work your schedule to work all of the holidays. You can also do contract work on the side, you will be typed in your fleet and can fly part 91 on your days off. There was an offer to fly a N# CE-750 out of DNMM for $1500/day all expenses paid for the brave ones.

That's not correct. Volunteering for extended days gets you the extended day rate, which is 150% of your normal daily rate. The 3 "extra" days on the 18-day schedule are basically paid at daily rate. If a 7/7 guy worked 3 extra days a month, he'd make more money than the 18-day guy: about $150 more per additional day for a first-year guy.

However... there's no guarantee you'll get any extended days at all, whereas the 18-day guy is guaranteed to be paid for 18 days each month, albeit at the lower daily rate. And for a 7/7 guy, there's a limit of 5 extended days flown per 4-month bid period.

(1 day on the 7/7 and 1 day on the 18day are the same pay)
For the ~15.2 days the 7/7 guy works, that's correct. But the days beyond that are higher (if you can get them), as I said.
