Do Netjets have Acars on their aircraft? Thanks.

like text messaging for airplanes. You can get your clearance, atis, where available and company can send you messages as well all through the FMS

Must be a very useful capability! I saw this once on a B-777 then but I didn't know the name. Thanks for the explanation flyguy.

Edit: At my airline:

We do our W&B though our ACARS too. And we will be doing cost indexing through it. It will tell us exactly what speed and altitude to fly based on current weights and temp, and ride conditions.

I think NetJets actually has AFIS.

Sorry to confuse you ROE.

Clarification

What types have ACARS? Who's getting cost indexing? Certainly not the smaller types?

Netjets has AFIS. We do not have a cost index on the X as we put the throttles in the cruise detent and GO! After all, the owners bought the X for the speed. I really cnnot speak for other fleets but have never heard cost index mentioned here. We can do a lot more with AFIS than you can with ACARS.
