Default XO Jet furloughs

I am hearing several XOJet employees have been let go. Does anyone have any info on how many were pilots? Do these pilots have recall rights?

Well, if that is true, cross another option off the list.

I was told this by a current Xojet employee. He hasn't been layed off but is fearing the worst.

As I wrote last month:
XOJET is a rocketship!
Lots of fanfare on the launch pad, lots of press from good PR. people. Then comes the all the noise and smoke followed by quiet as it proceeds out of sight!!!

The XOJET model is nothing unique. All the fractionals are bucking for the same customers. The fractional owner is smart. This is not a time in this economy to take risk and sign up with a start up. Charter and fractionals are down 30%. Not the time for a new kid on the block.

The financing is not for the operation, it is for the aircraft. They signed the large order contract when delivered aircraft were bringing a premium. Now aircraft are plentiful, customers scarce.

The rocket is on the pad, the clock has started, the crowd has gathered and here comes the smoke and noise!!!

Today there is silence and the smoke has cleared. XOJet is showing it's true colors.
I feel for the unfortunate pilots let go. They gave it their all but there was never a foundation for long term success.
Unfortunaltely aviation draws the get rich quick crowd and XOJet will not be the last.

Hey topgun, do you think you could sound a little less excited about people getting thrown to the street right before Christmas?

Even though I work for a competitor, I wish you guys the best of luck during these tough times.

If true it's another sad story this year. Unfortunately not surprising. No one is safe these days. Even less a fresh upstart just getting traction, no matter who it may be.

Good luck to those (supposedly) affected..

WOW! Counting them out already? That is bold. Will you be as quick to come back on and admit your mistake if things turn around?

I have never ever heard anyone more anxious to declare their own righteousness at the expense of those less fortunate.

"Oh, you're mom died from that cancer? I said a month ago that she would. I TOLD YOU SO!"

I am thoroughly embarrassed for you and actually feel sick to my stomach that attitudes like this exist.

Its not even as if you were correct...furloughs don't mean the complete obliteration of a company. Go toot your horn somewhere else!
