If you stay on the same type. You only have the promissory notes for 2 years unless you upgrade. Then you will have an additional one for the upgrade training. And after 4 years of service none at all.
Funny coincidence here:
Wikipedia
Indentured servitude
A labor system where by young people paid for their passage to the New World by working for an employer for a certain number of years. It was widely employed in the 18th century in the British colonies in North America and elsewhere. . . Runaways were sought out and returned.
Overall it's not the worst place to work. Good people to work with. There is a reasonable schedule, 8 on 6 off. Which happens most of the time. The pay is low and currently frozen with no plan to unfreeze it. DPJ has said they are happy with their 30-40% turn over rate so they don't end up with everyone comfortably sitting at the top of the pay scale. So if you are on your first type rating this is not a bad place to start. Keep in mind it's a stepping stone job. Its almost impossible to make a career at DPJ. The few of us who rode out the recession here to stay employed are frozen at a pay scale much higher than anyone hired in the last 2 years before the pay freeze started. So for us it's a bit more comfortable to stay a bit longer. It's still not a career long job anymore. So plan accordingly. Get what you need And get out clean.

Mustgofaster,
I have a copy of the memo from DPJ and it states:
Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m pleased to announce that effective immediately, Delta Private Jets will be replacing its current Pilot training agreement with a 24 month pro-rated agreement, based on the pilots’ first training event, whether it’s an initial or recurrent. One year training agreements for voluntary bids on new equipment will still be in place. When you are contacted by Human Resources, you may expect one of the following, depending on your years of service or current training obligation.
• If you have 24 months or more of continuous full-time employment with DPJ and have not voluntarily bid for or were awarded a new initial type rating that’s different than you were hired for, you will be released from your current training agreement obligation.

I have eight other types, just not current in any they are hiring for. I tried to apply but got the message that I am not qualified, can't even get an application in.

If you have 8 types then you are too experienced. They want low time guys who will put up with being treated like crap with below industry standard pay. You won't be happy there. I have flown many of their jet card holders who have jumped ship and move to a better private jet provider. The stories they share are rather unbelieveable.
