We saw an XO 300 in PBI. It was painted in Options colors.

Hey man...relax.

I've been applying everywhere else since I started in Envoy. I was trying to go to the Spirit job fair in NOV. Guess what? Now they are asking 500 TPIC to let you talk to them. Wednesday I was talking to a friend that's interested also in XO, well I told him "sounds good I will apply also". Go figure, he haven't applied yet.

Everything in life have a purpose, I didn't even believed when I received the email that finally someone was willing to interview me. I lost count of how many rejection letters I've received in the last year alone without even being called for a interview.

When? If it was 406, those aren't Options colors. It's just not painted all white...

Wouldn't make sense it was painted in options colors anyway. The rumor mill says that the challengers would be going to flex not options.

Do you lack turbine time or something? Not to stir the pot but why are you dying for XO specifically?

No turbine PIC to really speak of, only about 200 SIC on a CJ. We alternate legs so I do a lot of actual flying but cant log it PIC. I know a few guys have got calls with 0 TPIC but I could understand the logic in hiring a guy with 1200 SIC due to the experience in a crew environment.

I Mostly like the Schedule, and think it would be a good fit for me. Also the fact that you can live anywhere pretty much and its still a good job and a decent paying one at that is a plus. Im not too up and up on the frax industry but XO appears to be one of the better companies out there (yes i know its 135) and I think the opportunity for long haul stuff seems that it would mean getting to fly into new and more interesting places sometimes. No I wouldn't be dead set on XO but I don't see anyone else with these similar attributes hiring much right now, however I could be wrong.

Another thing is that its hard for a non collegiate imbecile such as myself, to find a job that pays close to 100k in the aviation industry short of corporate gig (which would most likely require moving) on super mid size jet.

.......Pot not stirred no worries!

J3-

I totally agree! Remaining calm when there's something I want has never been one of my strong points. I have to remember there may be a reason its not be and all will be good regardless....Curse of the one minded ambitious among us Hope all goes well on the interview and again let us know how it goes!

Why don't you get your degree online? Just find it weird that you want to go there as a last resort. Sorry maybe I read it wrong? If it's turbine PIC you lack, maybe Amflight or something like that? They are hiring Metro drivers from what I hear. That would at least get you some turbine PIC.

I would suggest getting the degree as well. Also, XO is pretty low paying for the equipment. I wouldn't expect to break 100k there cause it ain't gonna happen.

Actually not thinking of it as a last resort but more of a first choice. I know this may sound crazy to some, but I believe it would be a good fit and a good job.

As far as the turbine time I have thought about doing such things however, I really would hate to take the paycut, however slight or great it might be, and then not be able to live at home. Again that is another reason XO is appealing to me.

I have seriously been considering getting the degree but there is so much disinformation regarding online schools and no clear "this is what it costs" after surface digging. With a degree, it would benefit me from any career standpoint in aviation, however it would be a lot of time and money, and with no desire to go to the airlines I am not sure how much advantage it would pose...couldn't hurt though.

Thanks for the input guys!

I applied about a month ago with just under 3000tt, 1500 turbine, 1200 tpic, and no jet time. I live in south florida, and have flown with two captains there. They called me back within a few days, and we started the process. First is a phone interview, and second is an interview with a few panels plus a technical test. I am getting ready for the second interview right now, but the threads are useless for that.

I currently work at ameriflight, and it is a good place to pick up turbine PIC. You have to be willing to move to get the quick upgrades (and better runs).

My take so far is that it is closer to a 135 checkride than an interview. They use check airmen for the interview, and they try to make it as comprehensive as possible. Having said that there are the usually "tell me about a time" HR questions. The impression that they have given me is that they are looking for east coast pilots (current or willing to move). New York, Boston, D.C., and Florida. I do not know about other cities east of the Mississippi.

All aviation is swinging to benefit pilots. Pay is one thing I am not too concerned with since it will be changing within 2 to 3 years. There are plenty of ways to make extra money.
