Does XO actually have much recent history of hiring guys with ATP mins? Would ATP mins including about 1200 hours of twin turboprop pic get a look? I'm about 6 months out from those numbers.
I'm resigned to most likely ending up at a regional, however I would much rather be at XOJet.

Got a question for Smooth or anyone currently at XO. I'm retiring from the majors this year with prior corporate and 135 time in Citations, King Air's, etc, along with 29 years of 121 time. I'm very familiar with the history of XO and what the job entails. I also know there are or were several ex 121 guys there that did and did not work out. That being said, I wonder if someone with my background would be a good fit at XO? Comments, thoughts, insight??
Thanks

We've got a good mixed of prior 121, mil, etc and most do fine. So long as you understand what the job entails and are willing to put the work into cleaning, loading bags, etc.., then you'll do fine. I wouldn't say it's a 121/135/Mil/91 thing as it is an individual person issue. The ones who don't do well are the ones who aren't flexible, aren't willing to put in the work to help prep and clean the plane and really just flat out lazy. We all have the 10-20% that just don't get it and XOJET is no exception, but as long as you're a good person who's willing to put in the work to get the job done the right way you'll be fine.

I recently applied with a fractional got turned down although I think I did well on the interview HR, Tech, and Sim I spoke to an Capt in a recent visit in an FBO he tells me they like to hire someone with no time as F/O instructors and guy's that are retired 121/135. I am not retired just trying to get back in the industry after 4 years of doing limo I fly a friends single engine just to get current and do redbird sim every 3 months. I have over 7200 TT 6800 of that multi-jet turboprop and piston time (1700 TT A320 F/O). I have 91/135 experience and I do like to load bags and preflight and help my Captain out in all phases of flight I applied to XO last year but no internal rec never heard from them. How do I get noticed by your HR. Should I update even though my current time is piston only? Thanks in advance.

Hi AZ, I'd say that those numbers are kind of low to get into XO with ATP mins. To be honest, with the kind of flying done at XO it might be a little overloading (a generalization, obviously not true for some) anyway. Go spend a year or 2 at the regionals and you'll be in the sweet spot. Most folks who are getting on are in the 3K+ hour range FYI.
