What is the difference between the phone interview and the tech interview?

Phone interview was a very informal get to know you kind of convo with a couple of CRM and TMAAT bits thrown in. Tech interview was an evaluation of aviation knowledge in line with an ATP cert with some 135 stuff as well.

Any idea which majors they're going to? Legacy carriers like United/SWA vs. a JetBlue or a Spirit type? The schedule is way better than what I have now and I'm contemplating a switch.

They fly you out to Sacramento day before, have dinner that night with other candidates and Xojet management. Very relaxed but still part of interview. Next day they will pick you up from hotel and take you to Xojet operations center and conduct a 4 or 5 panel interview with HR , tech portion ( if you didn't do it through skype) and line pilots. Basically going over your resume and basing questions from that. It is a full day, never checked my log books, and no sim. Go home next day. Xojet pays for all expenses, and provides lunch on interview day.

Last time I heard, starting pay was 52 - 55k and the schedule was pretty easy. You're home every night. No possibility of commuting.
GMJ is presently interviewing, but not hiring. They're interviewing for a pool, and they pull from the pool when a captain leaves, nearly on a 1-for-1 basis. Upgrades are not by seniority. They have 6 ERJ-145 (50 passenger) aircraft, approximately 30 pilots, fly scheduled 2-3 days a week with a 4th reserve, and start at 52,000/yr for FO's with 70,000 for captains. They're 2.5 years into a 5 year contract, and operate between Mesa-Gateway, Hillsboro, and Mather (California). Shorter trips are available for those in Hillsboro and Mather, longer days for Gateway pilots. They pay benefits first day of work, do initial at CAE (type with initial), and have 401K. Owned by XO, but operated separately. No flow between the two. Phone interview initially, then in-person interview.

I have no details of the interview process; someone who works there may be able to provide that.
