Hey all new to the forums here. Have a couple of questions that I could not find while scrolling through this thread. Regarding to the schedule. On average are most pilots gone the full 12 days or do most people see home more often then that per month.

It really depends on your base and aircraft type. The Phenom guys tend to be on the road the majority of their rotation. 10-11 days is not uncommon during busy times of the year. King Air and CJ tend to be home more, but that's starting to change too due to increased attrition. They are very actively hiring, and a class of 8 I believe just went through indoc, but we are still understaffed.

I think a fair bet at this point, if on the 12/3 schedule, is to be prepared to be working 10 days per rotation. Sometimes it will be far less, but it wouldn't be wise to go into it expecting that.

Don't work there go to a regional or something. Anything else. Pilots are leaving left and right because they're overworked and underpaid. Management makes all kinds of promises about making things better with zero results. Also aviation is an industry that prides itself on professionalism. Well there are all kinds of unprofessional things going on at that place. Just going to leave it that.

What types of things could warrant such a post? To my understanding first couple of years at a regional are not much better. Four months of training, sitting reserve at base for sometimes up to a week. Most airlines you wont hold line for a year or so, again depending on base. Pay at the regionals is still not great, yes its getting better, but still not where it should be. I just don't get how someone can recommend it over EAS. Someone care to elaborate a bit?

It's all been posted already. Clif notes:
The worst reserve schedule is better than the best EAS schedule.
First year pay sucks at a regional (sic pay sucks at EAS), then it's pretty easy to make mid 40's and up from 2nd year on. (Unless you go to endeavor, then you're mid 40's year one, mid 60's year 2)
If your a 1500 hour guy, what do you need? Flight time. 400-500 hours at EAS vs 800-900 at an airline per year.

Again it just boils down to what you want to do but you have to look at it from two sides.

Well to fair, first year pay over at Trans States, Republic and Endeavor is higher than at EAS. Also, people wrapping up training at TSA and Republic are holding lines at least a month or two after they begin reserve. There is also more room for career advancement at Piedmont, ExpressJet and Envoy if your goal is to work for a particular legacy carrier.
And yes, the schedule works out much nicer than most lower-end 135 operators like EAS.

Absolutely not true about Expressjet or Envoy. I've got several friends at both. Anything but career advancement. So that's far from the truth. I do agree with everything else people are saying though.

Where are people leaving to from EAS? Are they getting hired by majors or going to regionals?
