Can someone working here please shed some more light on the 12/3 schedules? What did your last month look like on the 100/300? I understand that you are not gone the full 12 days but wanted to know what quality of life one can have with this schedule? I have a family with two young kids and still want to be able to see them and do things with them. Thanks for your replies.

10/15/14 interview
I was at the interview on Oct 15 for the DFW 100/300 SIC position, and I received the TBNT letter just now in the mail.
Interview was a posted on earlier pages. arrived 0900 for interview, started with both ACPs meeting us 3 applicants(myself, another active cfi, and a current charter pilot) in the lobby of the Atlantic. The CP was not there for the interview. We toured the hangar and looked inside a couple of the planes. We then went into the conference room for the company presentation. There were 3 sections, HR, Interview 2 on 1 with ACPs, and written test. The interviews themselves didn't seem to last all that long(maybe me). We then had lunch. Done by 1300.
Over all, everyone was very nice, they ask questions very quickly interviews. A couple of them nodded and smiled very emphatically with every answer that I gave.
Question: HR
Tell me about a time when you saved the company money.
What do like most about jobs listed on your resume?
What do you dislike the most about each of the jobs you have listed on your resume?
Tell me about a time you went the extra mile for the customer.
Interview with to ACP
Starts off with"check the box" questions
Felonies?
Failed check rides?
Willing to sign training contract?
Do you have FCC license?
Do you have first class medical?
Describe yourself both personally and professionally.
What would you do to prepare to PIC
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
What would your current employer say about you?
Written test
VOR service volume
ASOS vs AWOS
-tsra on metar
ILS hold short vs Hold short
Instrument approach chart on last page (GPS) when to descend with TAA
How many GPS satellites required for use?
millibars standard atmosphere
transition altitude
Class A airspace dimensions
can you use FL180 with altimeter setting 2990
That is all I can remember.
They never asked to see logbooks, licenses, or medical. They ask you to arrive with signed alcohol release and completed application
Only one applicant was currently living in DFW.
backtracking- The dfw ACP called on the 10/6/14 to ask some questions and schedule the interview.

I did. I have been told that we are slowing the direct entry captain hiring as the SIC's and even PIC's get enough time to upgrade into the King Air or Phenom respectively. That being said if you respect your schedule and like the flexibility that an airline gives you, you may want to look elsewhere. It has been a very busy fall thus far and for those still on the 12/3 with the transition for some onto 10/5 it has been especially difficult. That being said it is difficult to find a place that would hire you directly into the left seat of jet with no prior tpic or even jet time for some.

Thanks to everyone posting, lots of good information here.
I'm a military guy, prior active duty, current reservist, looking to get into the civilian side of the house.
With regards to the Houston hiring, does anyone know about how many pilots they are looking to hire and when and where they will be doing the interviews. I put my application in yesterday.
I'm currently in the San Antonio area, so that would be a first choice but I have family in the Houston area as well so I'm very interested in some good flying opportunities to broaden my experience.
