As to the hiring picture: Completely anecdotal info here, but it seems business jet owners and operators already in China have had no trouble so far hiring experienced crews from around the world. Particularly since serious business jet operations were all but unheard of in mainland China less than ten years ago. I would guess that their initial cadre would be a combination of tried-and-true NetJets pilots looking for a change of scenery / bigger paycheck, and established expats working in China who already have the lay of the land and the proper licenses. And native Chinese business jet drivers of course, but there really don't seem to be very many home-grown folks just yet, or at least not enough to meet the projected demand.

And I'm sorry to be that guy, but it's actually "expatriate", or:
ex·pa·tri·ate
n.1. One who has taken up residence in a foreign country.
As opposed to "Ex-patriot", describing someone having been a patriot in the past tense, but no longer:

200K to fly an A320 China. Hopefully business jet pay will be in sync.

I read where the medicals are a b*tch.

Not quite there yet, but looking to go up as the sector gets bigger and more competitive. Seems it's just such a small market right now relative to the local airlines and business jets overseas that they don't have to offer quite the same competitive compensation yet. That's likely to change if the market gets as big as the local companies and Mr. Buffett seem to believe.

True dat. ECG, EEG, cardiac stress test, ultrasounds, blood work, colorblindness, full body exam, all in addition to the usual FAA 1st class fun and games. If you're at all worried about the potential results of any of the above, see what you can do to remedy the problems well in advance of your trip over.
