What is current upgrade time from FO to Captain. I know there are threads for this, but haven't found any recent ones. Thanks for the help.

Being they NJ is fractional and not charter do you folks find yourselves getting to sit around a city longer than say a normal charter company like mine? We don't get a lot of down time to go and see the areas we go to but on rare occasion. Also. Someone told me that as long as you're on duty you have to remain at the airport?

Also are you seat locked once you get there in the original airframe as an FO and when you upgrade is it typically always going to be to the smaller class aircraft? Also do you have to live in one of the domicile a listed or can you live anywhere? Just noticing there are none in Colorado.

There is very little sit time between flights during the day. Most of the time you'll ferry to the next revenue flight after you've cleaned the cabin, restocked, etc.

If you do have some airport sit time, there are ways to go get a meal. If you're sitting standby they generally want you at the airport (there is different types of standby dictating you level of readiness to go recover a trip).

You incur a 39 month seat lock upon completion of your initial type and any subsequent VOLUNTARY aircraft movement. That seat lock will not restrict you from moving to a higher paying position. Read that as upgrade, but upgrade opportunity is unavailable for the most part at the moment.

DEN is a base, not sure about other cities in CO.

Oh okay makes sense. I guess I missed seeing Denver. I understand upgrade is haunted indefinitely for the time. Just trying to decide long term. While the company I work at now is great part of me thinks if I choose to make a career outbid the side of aviation NJ would be the better long term option seeing I've got at least another 30-35 years left before retirement .

Appreciate the information everybody ;0)

Is it still 2hrs from a domicile? Or does the distance matter and long as you show up on time for the commute out?
