I especially loved the $500 pot of coffee. That was when the 727 F/E went out to preflight, started the APU to power up the jet and pressurize the water tank. Then you could put a pot in the coffee maker and start it up so there was coffee when the Captain and the F/As showed up at the jet.

If you were a REALLY good F/E, you made a pot of regular and a pot of decaf.

Those were the days!

Guys,

When you finish a 7/7 schedule on the last day of work prior to travel day are there times they release you so travel can commence on day 6 or is it more common that you always spend the night and travel day 7.

Your last day of a 7/7 is the 7th day. Travel is included in the last day. I personally have never been sent home on day 6 (on many occasions day 7 is only a travel day). I have been sent home on a Citation 10 and G200 before (which was only so I didn't get an extended day).

For the new hires, congrats on getting the job. Now that your here, please understand you are expected to join the fight. We have the opportunity to stand together and achieve gains in our next contract. We will need the help and support of the new hires in doing so. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me. I will try and do my best to answer them.

Reading about Netjets on Glassdoor may provide a little more insight on management, and quality of life. Buffet purchases companies because they exhibit "That distinct competitive advantage", from the Fall River knitting mills in the 1950's, to Coca Cola, and just last month, Duracell.

The fractional model is short sighted, and although it worked post 9-11, it doesn't work today. It's simply less expensive to charter, and seek other alternative membership based programs instead.

What is the average flight time guys are getting per month? Is there a big fluctuation based on airframe?

Probably 35ish hours. Some fleets more, some a bit less.

That's less than I expected. Especially, considering the number of legs per day guys are talking about. That could be good and bad. Bad because it sounds like a lot of sitting around an FBO. Good because…..?

Some are a fair bit more. We can have 35 hour weeks sometimes. It really is fleet and season dependant. FBO rot is a way of life here when not flying actively.
