You love the time off but are willing to give some of it up for more money?

Ain't no effing way I am giving up ANY vacation time in exchange for more money. The money should be coming anyway.

Your post condones concessions after gloating about how well the company is doing.

Am I missing something? Did you come over with NJI?

I'd be more than happy to give them back one or even two weeks vacation for more $$$$

We might not make as much as the majors, but all the time off we get, we don't have to commute, and the fact that we can live wherever we want, its not a bad gig.

The company is making money, the fleet is being renewed, (20 Globals on property already) and we're adding owners at a pretty good rate. But unfortunately labor unrest is at an all time high due to negotiations

Among other things, they are looking for changes in healthcare that would amount to costing the average Pilot's family 30k over the next six years, pay freeze resulting in lost income relative to inflation, displacement language that would send PIC's to the right seat/scale at their whim, descimated scope language which would have an equal effect on career potential, etc., etc.

The details of NetJets demands are deeply concessionary and are in complete contrast with the statements they make in public.

Your first sentence is accurate but you lost me after that and the rest of your post reeks of arrogance and ignorance! They can afford the extra $$$ without the pilots having to give one inch in any other section!!!
The labor unrest is not due to negotiations, it is due to the utter lack of respect the EMT is giving us by offering us a POS proposal while making record sales! But I guess all that is lost on someone like you who enjoys the protections and benefits of his work contract but fails to ever realize how it came to be in the first place.....

Not in the least, however, it is important for those outside of NJA to understand as the outcome of NJA's negotiations effects us all to some degree.

Of course it does. However, these tactics are right out of the airline management playbook. Therefore, you should not be surprised to see them in operation. Airline managers have been doing this stuff since Lindbergh was running TAT.

Again...at no point was I surprised.

Everyone in this industry, regardless of whether they are a member of a labor organization, should read "A Union Buster Confesses" (Confessions of a Union Buster: Marty Jay Levitt, Terry Conrow: 9780517583302: Amazon.com: Books). This book is more relevant for Flex Pilots than for anyone else at this moment. Knowledge is power.

Past at times being prologue, could someone kindly illucidate the likely outcomes going forward? Thanks!

On the current track, I think this goes all the way to self help. I'm hopeful the direction changes though. It will be a while before the picture clears up on which direction we go, however.
