Day one overtime rules: Any duty before 8am is hourly overtime. Also if you start before 8am any duty more than 9 hours is hourly ot. Duty starts 1-2 hours before your flight leaves depending on the size of the airport.
Last day OT. If the company can not get you home before midnight or you will exceed 14 hours of duty you go to the hotel and airline home on first available flight the next morning. You receive 2 extended day's pay and if you get home past noon on the extra day then you get the first day of your next tour off.

I lived 2 hours from my base when I started. Early shows are downright painful, and there are a couple of other minor concerns. Think about a 0600 airline. That means a 0230 departure from your house to make the 0430 show. You also have to notify them in the rare times you show at home.
It's not a deal breaker, but there are times it sucks.
I think one of the goals in this bargaining cycle is HBA for every pilot.

Thanks for the comprehensive answers. Like I said, I'm thrilled and honored to be able to interview with NJ in the first place. Things like this will be secondary to the job. This industry can become very taxing on you and family, so preparing everybody for what might be coming is always a good thing.
