Default Checking Beer

Has anyone here ever ship a case of beer as checked luggage internationally? Advice?

I wouldn't suggest it... Between the pressurization, vibration, and the way that handlers toss stuff around (this is the big one), you're probably pretty likely to end up with a broken bottle (or more). I've had beer on board (and often bring a case or four back from the west coast when I fly for work), so the actual flying part isn't an issue, but I don't know if I would trust your typical airline ramper to handle a case properly...

Some airlines have policies banning liquid in glass containers as checked luggage. Be sure to check with the carrier ahead of time.

Not Beer but I brought back two bottles of Vodka back from Russia this summer. They survived nine flights and 7000 miles. I wrapped them in a newspapers amount of paper and wrapped a bag around both of them just in case my bag got miss handled so I wouldn't have a suitcase full of Vodka soaked clothes.

Yes, I brought a bunch of beer back from Prague without problem. Just package it well and enjoy it when it gets home!!
