Thumbs up Picken's plan?

So what do y’all think of the Picken’s plan? (www.pickensplan.com )

He's an old oil man who's made billions in the oil business and I must say I’m pretty impressed with his plan so far. Even the environmentalist Sierra Club is supporting his plan...

In a nutshell he wants to build up our wind power to cover at least 20% or so of our electrical energy consumption. This way we can 'free up' natural gas from heating our houses, businesses, etc. and use those extra natural gas resources to fuel our cars instead. (example)

He also wants us to build more nuclear power plants, solar power plants, drill for more oil, reuse and conserve.

I think he’s onto something…

This sound great in theory. However we need the people in Washington and every capital around the world to get in on this or something like this will ever work. However it is a great shot in the right direction.

first we need to have a north american union ( if it works), then try this plan.

I hope you are joking for sure. First of all, what's that got to do with anything? This is about us, the US becoming more independent of foreign oil, not the US, Canada and Mexico combined. Second of all, why would we want to link a third world country, Mexico, with the US of A?

Canada is our largest supplier of oil. What does any of that have to do with anything? Are you concerned about lowering the cost of energy or some grand desire to make the world a better place with inefficient energy sources like wind? With the current cost of energy so high, the market should easily be able to stand things like nuclear energy coming online. It is just a matter of idiots not blocking nuclear energy because they have some irrational fear of a bomb or meltdown.

Wasn't there an article the other day along the lines of:

Wind power is less green than current power generation methods since it requires a backup source and combined both operations generate a larger carbon footprint.

No one is saying don't build wind farms. Most on the right are just saying if it was practical it would not require mandates or subsidies.

For the record I saw a recent Picken's quote that says sure drill everywhere. He just dosen't think there is anymore oil out there.

If you really want to think outside of the box, then watch this and this.

Yeah… Well, did I mention that I already have this dreaded RFID chip inplanted? Well, actually my dog has one.

I guess we're all gonna die now...

Seriously, this is about Picken's energy plan, please keep the North American union, RFID and other silly conspiracy theories out of this thread - it'd be greatly appreciated.
