Default Mac/iphone logbook... reviews?

I am about to take the plunge over to the iphone. My "household" consists of MAC and Windows and currently I am a logbook pro user with a windows mobile phone. Has anybody tried Logten?

Coradine Aviation Systems

Currently I keep track of my flight time in the little red book and then transfer (after a trip) to my regular logbook in addition to logbook pro for a digital version. You can import the logbook pro stuff into Logten so the "transition" should not be difficult.

Any Reviews or other Mac/iphone options for the 121 folks?

I would get it, but it requires an internet connection. I would prefer a logbook program which you could work on it without a connection, like in the air.

Oh, and there's a thread on this already with other info. in it.

I was thinking about it but it requires Leopard, which I don't have and Apple will probably come out with a new version right after I do get it. Also, I would suggest waiting until they come out with a native app for the iPhone rather than a web app, although I do like the idea that your computer syncs with your iPhone logbook whenever you connect to the internet.

Semi-related question. I'm thinking of changing over to an electronic logbook, is logbook pro the one to go with? Are there any that import sabre data? Last, do most people log time by leg, day, trip, or month? just trying to get a feel for what everyone else is doing.

Starting this thread showed me there is another section on these boards to look through.. O my wife will be soo pleased! Maybe this one will serve as an update to the previous one with the new launch of the iphone and the logten mobile program.

An electronic logbook is definitely the way to go now. Makes filling out applications and keeping track of currency really easy. Definitely have a paper backup though. Whether it's just keeping up with a paper one or printing out pages from the electronic one it's an absolute necessity. I currently use Logbookpro (Microsoft Access based) and it's pretty great, others I know just use an excel spreadsheet and if you are pretty good with excel it works just as well. I'm thinking about the one from Coradine though.

I've been using LogTen Pro for awhile - it's come a long way since they released it and I'm quite pleased with the desktop software. Not too thrilled with the web app for the iPhone though. Anxiously awaiting the native iPhone companion for it (hope they are working on it).

Caveat: I don't have a windows counterpart to compare LogTen Pro to since I haven't used Logbook Pro.

Hey guys, FYI. Dauntless Software (Safelog) is creating a logbook application for iPhone that can be synched with both the PC program and the web logbook. All three products (iPhone app, PC software, web logbook) are included in the purchase of Safelog.

The iPhone app is due out shortly.

Will internet connection be required to make logbook entries on the iPhone?
