Default RIP Jimmy Branson

This week marks the anniversary of the unfortunate death of Jimmy Branson. May 'Knotcher burn in hell.

To honor his life, I hope to recreate this race with the wonderful CRJ900

That movie quite possibly has got to be one of the worst air to air combat flics. I didn't know they stapled fighter pilot helmets to their reclined seats. I also really liked that 172 race, very realistic.

Well aren't you just a bubble of delight.

Its a good song, and some good stunt flying, with a 152, not a 172.

And it's an Aerobat to boot right? Well, we'll assume since light aerobatic's were involved!

Who was Jimmy Branson?

Also, the Tomahawk doing the roll was nice. Who did the stunt flying for this movie?

I cannot recall the name of the pilot, although a brief inter-web search will probably bring something up. It was the same guy who was killed during the filming of Top Gun when he spun his plane into the ground (filming the Goose spin sequence)

Art Scholl,

He was an extremely talented and famous aerobatic pilot. His signature maneuver used to be flying his Chipmunk while standing outside the cockpit on the wing.

But I am still trying to figure out who Jimmy Branson was?

Ok never mind I just watched the clip... That was a stupid movie interspersed with with a few decent flying scenes.
