Automobiles will last a long time if you use good quality oil, filters, and gasoline. Also change the filters on schedule.
Some good oils are Shell Rotella, Pennzoil, Havaline. There is another one whose name escapes me, but I believe these are all what are grouped as Pennsylvania motor crude.

Pennsylvania oils tend to be high in ash content.

Any E-46 BMW........easy to work on, bulletproof engine, and great on gas.

The other good Pennsylvania motor crude is Kendall. This information came from the better mechanics I've dealt with over the years.
