Here's a good article about fighters that both these guys have fought in the past...Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Miguel Cotto, "Sugar" Shane Mosley, and Oscar De La Hoya...
Pacquiao-Mayweather: in the eyes of common foes | Inquirer Sports
Right now, the only prominent boxing legend I've been able to find predicting a Mayweather win is Sugar Ray Leonard, but it comes with a big caveat...
Conversely, there are quite a few boxing greats that are predicting an outright Paquiao win:
Evander Holyfield
Roy Jones Jr.
Francis Ochoa
Julio Cesar Chavez
Mike Tyson
But what about boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya, who fought (and lost to) both of these guys?
Mayweather is going to get a guaranteed $180 million for this fight.
Paquiao will get AT LEAST $100 million, but depending on the gate will likely add about $10-$20 million to that.
Mayweather is ranked #1 in the world and has never lost. 47-0
Like Roy Jones Jr., Paquiao was named "Fighter of the Decade" (2000-2009) and won Championships in multiple weight classes. He's 57-5-2
Anticipated for almost a decade, this will be the most-watched boxing match in world history.
Here's my prediction.
If Mayweather is going to win, he needs to KO Paquiao. The reason? If the fight goes the full distance it is unlikely that Floyd will thrown/land as many punches as Paquiao. Therefore a full distance fight favors the Pacman. His problem? While Money is perhaps the best technician and defensive fighter of all time, he lacks the power to KO Paquiao.
If Paquiao is going to win, he simply needs to go the distance in this fight. In spite of Mayweather's defensive skills, he is very likely to throw and land more punches than Floyd and is the more intense fighter of the two. And even though Floyd has never been KO'd, if Manny gets lucky and can land a clean, hard shot, he definitely has the power to KO Mayweather.
So here is what I think happens.
The fight goes the full distance, is an absolutely EPIC battle with both these guys giving it 100% and beating the crap out of each other, it goes to the judges....
....and is announced a draw.
Creating massive controversy and hype. And setting up a rematch for double the $$ involved.

"I would say I lean toward Mayweather because he hasn't tasted defeat and he doesn't want to taste defeat. And I look at Pacquiao and I see a guy, a champion, who is equipped with such speed and power and unfortunately he was KO'd big-time by (Juan Manuel) Marquez," Sugar Ray Leonard told Newsday.
"Most fighters that get knocked out that way don't come back the right way. But if there is anyone who can do it, it's Manny Pacquiao. All fighters have one big fight left in them. My last fight was Hagler. I had it. I came back, and I still had everything."

If FM touches the canvas it will be because he tripped over Manny's feet. And I love Pac, but he'll punch himself out and FM will tap him and keep scoring points.

See that photo right there. That's the view of the Mayweather-Pacquaio fight $16,100 will get you.
That's for one ticket mind you, so if you're bringing someone else, double it.
Which comes in at a bargain in comparison to a ringside seat, which will cost you a cool $141,575.25 on StubHub.

Rook - Nice post. I can see your points. Looking forward to the match and your comments post-fight, along with everyone else's.
Anyone else want to throw in their .02?
I should have added above that I really, REALLY hope Pacman can push Money's arrogant face in. A large dose of humility would go a long way with that guaranteed $180 million he's getting.

I am pulling for Manny but have to agree that FM is the more skillful boxer.

More from De La Hoya...
Oscar De La Hoya is one of five men who have fought both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The "Golden Boy" from East Los Angeles lost to both, and each battle was historic.
De La Hoya's May 2007 bout against Mayweather stands as the greatest-selling pay-per-view card in boxing history (which undoubtedly be beaten by this match). It generated 2.48 million buys, and was hyped masterfully in a cross-country tour that featured the breakout of Mayweather's "Money" persona.
De La Hoya, trained for the bout by current Pacquiao cornerman Freddie Roach, was doing well in the first half of the match, but then his effective jabs all but stopped and he was beaten by split-decision. The next fall, his career ended...after a dominating Pacquiao performance in which the Filipino star repeatedly beat the veteran to the punch.
Eariler today, he offered his latest thoughts on how the May 2 Mayweather-Pacquiao fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas will turn out.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Prop Bets: Examining Early-Week Odds and Lines | Bleacher Report
I'm really starting to like my prediction.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, a superfight for the ages, is quite the event for Las Vegas and bettors worldwide. It's perhaps the most anticipated bout of all time, but also one of the riskiest.
For some, it's easy to take Mayweather, or "Money" to the bank—his defensive style hasn't failed him yet. For others, Pacquiao's offense from awkward angles is the answer to the riddle.
No matter which side of the fence bettors land on, it's important to keep up with the latest movements and details surrounding the fight. Below is a look at the latest with some odds advice after the jump.

The fighters who've lost to Floyd Mayweather explain why he's so impossible to beat:
