All really good information for someone looking to make the move here.
As a comparison of first year pay, pulled off the APC pages. Some of these have gone up recently with TA's.
DAL: 70/hr
UAL: 79
AAL: 77
SWA: 57
ALK: 56
Virgin: 52
ALG: 54
JBL: 50
FedEx: 72
UPS: 45
Hawaiian: 36
With one domicile in the most expensive place in the country, a 5 hour flight from the next closest option.
Don't count on a increase from a TA here that hasn't happened yet.

RH,
You forgot to list all the Regionals 1st yr. pay that are significantly greater than HAL's.

Just found out my tenant is moving out, early to mid April.
Small studio on acre property, stand alone not connected to main house but is connected to the garage, which you can use. About 45 minutes to an hour from airport on the North Shore. Own car is a must.
Quiet, safe, beautiful area. Minutes to beach if you have time to get out of the books.
Might be available if someone needs during training or longer so PM me.
$1300/mo includes electric, water, wifi.

Kapolei is the single most overpriced and inconvenient piece of dirt in Hawaii. Seriously. Traffic is obscene always vs mostly obscene anywhere else.
Still looking for info, let me know. Mililani is the most suburb, self contained, ton of stuff community place on the island from my experience having lived in Waikiki, pearl city, Kaneohe, Mililani mauka, west of haliewa (this was my favorite though, living on the beach.)

I'd be happy to have HAL guys looking for housing or on reserve pool together to rent my place. This place would be a pretty ideal crashpad.

I also rented a room (with its own bathroom) in a 4 bedroom house in Kaneohe. (from craigslist) It was a nice easy drive (not much traffic) but I paid $900 plus utilities. Now that training is over me and my sim partner found a studio in Kailua that we are splitting for $900 with all utilities.....so $450 a person.
