Oh, and for you new 767 guys, i hope you don't expect to use the jumpseat on our airplanes to get to work. Crew Scheduling has decided they're in charge of who rides.

If this jumpseat thing holds up I'll be amazed. That's one of the craziest examples of pilot micromanaging in aviation history! Can't ride your own company's jumpseat to work?? That would instantly place us in the bottom of work conditions in the industry. People applying take note.

Yes, as some people jumpseat to avoid losing days off when they buy your ticket for the day before when you leave at night the next day. Also for imputed income. I personally got $1800 taken out one month for that crap. Expensive tickets plus R2 hotel for 17 days killed me. When we are losing 10% of the pilots a year you'd think they wouldn't want to upset the pilot group. Oops...

It matters because coming from the west coast, I often get stuck with 0600L flights on my day off (with a connection) to get to CVG with enough time to get legal rest. If I jumpseat on the system, I sleep in at home, take a leisurely 1830L departure, get to the sort about 3 hours before departure, then work a leg outbound. Plus, like CandlerKid says, you don't get imputed.

It's safer to take the late departure, too. I'm way less tired on that outbound operating leg if I sleep in at home on my last day off.

Well, how's your on-time percentage?

In solidarity, bro.
