Atlas Air Hiring
Things tend to calm down after the last pilot on property at the time of the merger dies.

The quote from our Chairman was an honest reaction to actual facts laid out before him that many of us aren't privy to yet, and based upon decades of experience in the airline industry. I present this information to the perspective new hires so that they can envision themselves in a scenario that is developing at Atlas.
If you'd like to hide behind the saying of "anything is possible", OK yeah, everybody knows that and it goes without saying. Combined with our Chairmans knowledge/experience, the Teamsters, and my experience of going through two acquisitions, I can imagine a LIKELY outcome and its far worse than the facts and reactions I presented.

Their tactics are pretty standard throughout their history. I have dealt with them in the past, and they are good at what they do...Union busting and propaganda.
If this is in reference to Ford and Harrison, everybody involved or potentially involved in Atlas contract negotiations or Atlas/Southern merger needs to do their research and be very familiar with these scumbags. F&H is strictly a union busting law firm. They have their successes and failures. Let's put this one in the failure column for them.

I spoke with someone rather high up in management last night who said the company's plan is to eventually operate more 767's than we have 747's on property right now. 50, I believe, was the number floated.
That tracks with info I heard from a different management type a couple months ago regarding the aggressive growth plans for the 767 fleet here.
For those looking to get on with Atlas, the management type (who is involved with hiring) said the next big batch of interviews will be in late March. Atlas will also be attending WIA earlier in March. Still no insight into the hiring process, other than HR seems to be adjusting their "pre-screening" process such that the hiring rate for face to face interviewees will be high (something around 80% of interviewees were offered employment in the January interviews). Based on the conversation last night, getting face time with Atlas hiring reps at job fairs like WIA is one of the best things you can do to increase your chances of getting called for a face to face interview in Miami/Purchase.
Hope this helps any new guys/prospective new guys.

Interesting that mere days after management says they intend to pursue an amalgamated contract, this would be put out there. Sounds more like pay no attention to where the contract is headed, we're going to get gobs of jets, WE PROMISE!

I'm confused by your logic. You say "can't bust what ain't here", indicating there is no Union(or unity), but many of your other posts are essentially telling people to support the Union.
What exactly is your stance? If you're one of those "the Union is useless so I'll just b**ch up a storm" guys, I'll just ignore you. If you're trying to support your fellow pilots and your Union, I'll listen to what you have to say(albeit, with a grain of salt on an anonymous internet message board).
Based on your past posts, you seem to walk the fence. I hope I'm reading that incorrectly.

Walk the fence, hardly very pro union I would love a EU union capability to wild cat. I am stuck with neocons and the Koch brothers.

You work for Atlas but post on UPS threads? Really? You post all over APC and give really crappy advice. I hope you don't work for anyone you claim to work for.

I meant legally when the seniority list is merged and everyone is under one contract? Trust me, I know bitterness and anger last a lifetime. At my previous regional few years back 3 years had passed since the SLI and guys were still bent of out shape over it!
