Hey all, been through the thread (well searched it) and couldn't find much about ID90s nonrev type benefits besides AA. Is AA the only airline you all can nonrev on? Is your family included? Just trying to sweeten the pot! If this has been discussed already...blast away.

Does the company pay for parking at your gateway, base, or somewhere? 17 days could get expensive at the local lots.

They pay at your crew base only. Maybe find somewhere you can park for free and then ride mass transit to the airport?

Of course, you can jumpseat on pretty much anyone. For you and the family, I don't see AA, but i see ID75 on Virgin America (after a year) and ZED on Delta (after 6 months).

Having flown standby on Delta for way too long, I would politely suggest you not subject your family to such torture unless you just plain hate them. Standby tickets aren't the cheap-o deal they used to be, and the stress of will we/won't we get on isn't worth it. Buy the tickets!

What CaptainV said!

I dropped my wife off at the airport this morning so she could take a weeklong vacation in D.C. wit her mom. Her journey began at 5:15 a.m. MDT. She will land just before 2300 local EDT tonight. Traveling standby the whole way. We've decided after today that we will now buy tickets. It's not worth the headache of an entire day wasted trying to get somewhere. *My wife wasn't traveling on ZED, ID90, ID75 or any of those. She was traveling as the spouse of the employee of the airline she was trying to hitch a ride east on. Non-revenue travel has become a joke.

Thanks captainv & BYOB, I agree with the standby waiting and stressing game, man! I imagine the reward tickets are more realistic. Just trying to figure in the incentives for the family, cuz I'm so thoughtful. Also, we like to travel with the kids and with big chunks of time off Delta ZED could keep those costs down.

I've been trying for over 18 months or so. Not sure theres any consensus on what triggers that call but I would prepare to settle in and wait, then be pleasantly surprised when the call finally comes. Best of luck.
