The issue isn't the type of experience. It's the cost of training someone who knows this isn't domestic style, 3 on 4 off flying. They see no value in dumping $100 grand into training someone who has no real long term intent of staying. As to growth...they'll manage it and opt for people who understand the type of flying and like it.

you are not taking into account the full scope of training cost...not just the FNG, not just the time in the simulator.
How about hotels, per diem, that instructor that sits with you in the electronic trainer, how about that instructor that is exclusively yours during OE...all that is the cost of training.
I do see your point, but I think that going forward they may start relying more on mil guys, older former ACMI guys, vs the 30-year old RJ driver that does have apps out (whether he admits it to DB or not).

And a lot will opt for the airlines for the better QOL,and the ACMIs will be the furlough refuge, the 3 to 5 year stop along the way for a lot of guys and girls, I loved it, if only the schedule was more familia friendly.

We'll see what happens. I'd be very happy working at Atlas for the rest of my life because I love the job, but if someone's offering more money to do an easier job with more time at home then I'll take it.
