Correct. Most major airlines have either a 0 or 1 year seat lock as a newhire and then a 1-2 year seatlock for voluntary moves after that.

Now, I know what some will say: "You knew it coming in!" Yes we did, but what myself and my light twin cohorts didn't know was that they'd immediately hire 150+ guys behind us into the whale with no hope of getting sprung early for good behavior. Most of us involuntarily assigned to the 767 feel like we're just serving a sentence before our seniority can finally mean something at this airline. We're just stuck in limbo while junior pilots are filling vacancies in the bases of our choice.
But, at least they're paid more.

Also, you aren't eligible for profit sharing until you have completed your first full CALENDAR year. Which means... A person hired in January of 2013 isn't eligible to begin receiving profit sharing until January of 2015. Then you accrue that year to be paid in 2016.

You're not listening. In a couple years, long before we get the new contract, seat locks won't matter, natural flow thru will take more than three years. It will take more than three years to be senior enough to move from the junior 767/757 to the 747. Why spend leverage on something that will fix itself?

Because if we can't get enough new hires to replace those leaving Atlas will start going downhill....could end up with capts being displaced to FO seats because of shrinking pilot force.
The pilot hiding situation is changing rapidly....

Hey, cropduster! Congratulations on passing the exam! I, too, have been given the opportunity to take the assesment. I'm in the middle of a trip so I haven't taken it yet. Is there any insight you could provide in regards to types of stuff asked? I have looked at pretty much every page in this thread, gathered up " Everything explained...", atp test questions, WX stuff, even NAT operation manuals, yadda yadda yadda. I just don't want to blow this thing! Any help you could provide would be über cool of you! Anyway, congrats again!
Just don't serve the beer to your pilot friends until after the test.
