I've got to say the Atlas gang is some of the most incredible and welcoming pilots I have ever had the opportunity to spend some time with, truly world class!!! I'm putting together a piece on the phone interview as soon as I get the call, then a big bank of interview questions after that happens. Anyone else headed to Miami on the 9th, 10th or 11th? Would you help a sister out with any good phone tips (lol) and post some current interview stuff?

Thanks. We do have a good bunch of guys/gals here. Just be yourself in the interview. Good luck on all the interviews. Cheers

Now THAT'S what I'm talking' about!
Another generation of "paying it forward" has arrived.

Phone interview: This is from four+ years ago, but I think it's pretty much the same.
-Tell me a little about yourself (what you have done and are doing that shows you'll be a great pilot for Atlas i. e. heavy mil, or regional w/glass/fms time, overwater, ex freight, etc.)
-What do you know about Atlas? (I kept crib sheet with Atlas stats: fleet types and numbers, hubs, typical destinations, primary customers, approx pilot count, Pres, V.P., CEO, etc., stock price/trend, Atlas general history, etc., etc.)
-Why Atlas? (growth, freight financial stability vs pax, love to see far corners of globe, prefer night flying, smaller company, like the gateway thing, etc.)
-How will you handle being gone for 17 days? (Both you AND family will be great with it)
-Any questions or comments for us? (have good questions ready if you get this: How soon could I possibly interview? Will future -8 orders be growth , replacement, or both?, 777's?, Will I be able to choose fleet type?, etc.)

As for the Miami interview, there are more up-to-date posts about the current process as it has changed slightly since I was there, but some general thoughts:
-Come prepared. Do an interview prep with someone. Emerald, Tarver, Clark, etc. Really they are all very good.
-Bring all of your stuff. Including the flight time breakdown sheet (if they still ask for it; posted earlier this thread) and copies of Atlas and non-Atlas letters of recommendation.
-Get to Miami early. Get good sleep. Eat light breakfast. Get to interview early. Jot down names of everyone you meet (if you can't remember them). Be unfailingly polite to everyone you meet - they all can affect your interview score. Don't slouch. Don't hang at the back of the pack of interviewees (unless you are holding the door open for others). Look and be interested in what is being said. Keep your hands out of your pockets. Ask good questions whenever given the chance. Don't try to make jokes unless you are REALLY sure that they are totally appropriate for the circumstances. Breathe. Take time to look around and enjoy the experience; You wouldn't be there if you weren't qualified and needed by Atlas. The job is yours (if you don't screw yourself to the ceiling!)

DC8 that was spot on. The only thing I'd say is they don't ask you for a flight time breakdown, at least they didn't ask my interview class. I interviewed earlier in the year. I did the online Emerald coast interview prep, no face to face. I researched the company and good thing I did because they asked me to sell the company to the panel interview folks. The best advice you gave 8 was be friendly to EVERYONE. Even the person vacuuming the floors. Stand and sit up straight, be confident not cocky, turn your phone OFF, Facebook can wait, and remember, the people you're interviewing with are not your enemies. They will be your co-workers. Good luck to everyone, this is a great place to be.

For those joining, expect training to be 11 weeks. It may be shortened, but with the SIMS, CAT II/III, LQT and LOFT it will be 11 weeks.

Hello folks! I'm new to this forum thing. Wish I had heard about it long ago!
That said, has anybody received class dates that got placed in the hiring pool during the AK hiring event Apr 28-30?

I was told the converted 767 freighter will go to Titan to be leased...the customer then decides who operates it. Maybe Atlas operates it, maybe not.
