Speaking of hiring, does anyone know how to delete and replace old resumes on the application site? Hopefully I'm not missing something blatantly obvious, but I have my old resumes on there and can't get rid of them for this new opening.

This is bogus... Hawaiian does not use your race to add or detract from your application like Continental or United does.

It does however try to find people that actually want to live and work in Hawaii and plan to make Hawaiian their long-term career.

So if you don't want to make the sacrifices necessary to live in Hawaii, then it would be better for you to apply else where... there will be plenty of those mainland jobs opening this next year.

Are you suggesting that it is bogus that I questioned someone about the use of what I understood to be the Hawaiian version of slang for "white boy"? I understood his reply that it was not his intention to be taken that way (and I did not know it also meant a non-native). But, why is my questioning the other poster bogus?

Not at all.. I am talking about how Hawaiian hires. I am a haole and my wife is polynesian... I can tell you in my experience in the last 20 years of living in the islands that haole is not a name that is normally considered offensive by anyone. We use it all the time at home. I would even say that it is even more of a term of endearment in my experience.

You can read more about the word Haole here if you wish:
Haole - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But my main comment was that I do not believe that Hawaiian uses anyone's race as a means to determine their chances for employment as a pilot.

Thanks for clearing that up... No worries either. My wife uses endearing terms like that for me all the time too -- just yesterday she called me Einstein AND genius in the same sentence!!

My wife calls me the same word. Only she spells it a-hole instead
