PSA is hiring!

Ok, Do the math yourself. And you will find that a 2 year upgrade is impossible.
535 pilots currently on property.
PSA plans to hire 400 pilots. That would be 935 pilots on property.
415 Captains 420 f/o's.
Currently we have about 260 Captains and 275 f/o's.
If we needed 415 Captains that would be 155 upgrades.
So the top 155 f/o's would get the left seat.
Ok we are still having attrition, 4 per month or maybe high of 8.
That is 50-60 a year.
So the top 155 f/o's get the left seat. Plus attrition will make that 200 or so.
If someone gets hired today i cannot see any possibility that they will get a 2 year upgrade. Once the hiring and upgrades stop we will have about 50 leave a year. So it will still take an f/o 4 years to get from the bottom to the left seat.

well with the new planes that they are getting after screwing American Eagle, you might upgrade faster but who cares really since the pay will be as the smaller jets plus PSA gave concessions to be able to fly the bigger shiny jets.
As usual we (as a whole industry) continue the race to the bottom.

If you want To go be crammed in a small room for hours on end with pilots who single handedly (no that's not fair, endeavor helped) screwed over every other pilot out there, go for it. I'm sure that if something goes wrong, these upstanding individuals will have your back...I mean, they certainly looked out for the industry!

Good Luck with your decision.
