Default Baltia news?

Will these guys ever get off the ground? Anyone have any recent experience dealing with these guys? Any insight would be helpful.

They have a bunch of people running around an office in Bldg. 151 at JFK.

If my sources are correct, they have a FA class in training so maybe they are getting off the ground.....

I was told for pilots they have plenty of 747 classic experience guys to more than cover what they need from places like Evergreen.

Will never get off of the ground......a friend was on the certificate there. Submitted an app there years ago and classics are not allowed to fly in any of the regions they intend to fly to due to stringent RNP requirements.

FWIW

Holy sh*tballs batman, better tell Kalitta.

You do know avionics can be upgraded... We've upgraded from Omega to GPS in the 727s just last week.

All that being said I think they're going on 22 years of "starting up" for a reason.

Yup, used to see Connies' classics up until last year. However, he either got rid of them or switched to -400's as of late. Must be too expensive to operate. For a company like Baltia to buy an antiquated airframe and then upgrade it? I suppose it's possible but not good business.

Last week I saw a Baltia Airlines crew van pulling into the parking lot at the old Willow Run terminal (over by the bomber plant). I guess they have a presence at YIP in addition to JFK.

K4 still has 5 or 6 flyable classics... and is gainfully flying 4 or 5 most weeks....

As to Baltia.... JV is a player there... will be interesting to say the least... I believe they have been training crews as of late..... or so the training building rumors say....
