You feel you're superior enough to be immune from such errors? There's value in choosing to respect your fellow professional aviators and learn from their mistakes rather than hide under the vail of the, "we're better than them," mentality and pretending we couldn't possibly be so stupid.

No training program,,, No formal military training.,,,, No amount of Civilian training with guys "paying dues" can or will eliminate human error resulting in aircraft accidents. If done RIGHT... with strict standards..... and what I mean by that is airlines that aren't afraid to fail guys and remove them from the program if they can't meet a certain standard by a certain timeline... then I believe you will see this sort of thing increase in the next 20.. 30 years.. frankly what choice do they have? the military is producing far fewer pilots than 15-25 years ago... and the cost of getting ratings.. AND the now needed experience is and will continue to further get cost prohibitive.

I have read in several articles that the applicant is responsible for the cost of training. IMO you *could* end up worse off if you finish your training and get a better offer or decide you just don't want to work for JB and end up having to pay to get out of a contract. In this article 3rd paragraph down says applicant has to pay...
