Wow!!! That is crazy!!! I am in Sacramento and currently pay $115 an hour wet for a 172N with a 430 and could get one cheaper if I was willing to drive.

U r now convinced. that is the going rate now ($60K), for new FOs at the regionals...training bonds are long gone at all/almost all regionals.

Yeah and then you take a pay cut in year 2 and onwards until year 4 or 5 CA pay. The whole pay scheme is so screwed up right now.

More fuel for this fire: I've looked into about 8 flying guard/reserve units, and all of them were significantly overmanned and awash in applications.
It appears the only places where there's not a glut of pilots are fighter units and regional airlines with pay under $35k per year.
Side note--don't rule out the defense industry (Lockheed, Boeing, Northrop, etc.) for flying jobs. There are some great opportunities if you can get hired.
