Used to, when I had a job that made money. Now that I fly for a "living"......

I'm acutally not bitter, I'm way happier now than when I had an office job.

If I had enough money then I would build one. But before I do that I want/need to get all my ratings and degree first

Default I do

I have and do. I really enjoy the "hunt" for good prices on upgrades and new technology. Not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be, but still enjoy it.

Default Go big!

I'm waiting for the i7's to drop in price, or Intel's next line of chips to come out to start on a new rig.

Default Me Too

I am waiting for the I7's to come down in price as well. Just got a EVGA GTX-275 to replace my 9800GT and doubled my frame rates on COD4. If you are looking for a great stand alone vid card, I highly recommend it. A lot of bang for the buck and the prices are dropping all the time.

Just curious, what does everyone use to buy the parts for these computers. I've been using newegg.com, but I was just wondering what other options there are.

Default Newegg Rocks

I will usually use Pricewatch to check on prices and compare outlets, but almost always end up buying from newegg. It is tough to beat their combo of price and service. If you haven't already you should subscribe to their "weekly deals" newsletter. Between that and their daily "shellshockers," sometimes you can find some amazing deals.

Newegg all the way. Built a gaming desktop 3 years ago. Specs:

- AMD 64 3800+ Venice
- 4 GB Value Select Corsair
- nF4 Ultra-D Motherboard
- XFX 7900 GTX, 512 Megabytes
- Western Digital Caviar SE 250 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s
- ViewSonic VX724 2-Tone 17" '3ms gray-to-gray (avg.); 5ms
- GIGABYTE 3D AURORA GZ-FSCA1-ANB Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower
- Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS SB0350 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card
- Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, TUV, CB, FCC CLASS B, CUL

Started with a 7800 GTX, but that artifacted, so I got a 7900 free Ran beautifully until the motherboard fried . . . gonna scrap it one of these days.
My MacBook Pro runs games MUCH faster than that rig did
