SWA's rates for their 73's are better than Delta's if I'm reading it right.......

12 year CA for SWA for 1st year of the new contract:
$250.77 ($218.25 * 1.149)

Yes they'll still be here 3 years from now IMO. I think unless some new frame comes around (c series?) that makes a lot of economic sense it provides a useful capacity for the airline. That or some situation where regional feed was outsourced ( clearly I'm not advocating this, just a scenario).

I believe 24 are on order, with most thinking they'll never see it on property. I think the E2 version which just started flight testing would be the only real option if we were to get them. It has the new geared engines.

The SWA agreement has higher pay rates than the Delta one anyway so that sounds like a good plan to me!

**making wild assumptions and personal opinions**

By 2020 I think we will have a plan to phase them out and replace them with the CSeries 100/300.

Also, we most likely are done taking deliveries of new A320s. So I could see a CS500 replacing those in the 2020-2025 timeframe (I'm making a big assumption that BBD commits to the 500).

Our fleet in 2025 would be CS100/300/500, A321ceo/neo/LRs, and probably some sort of widebody like the A330neo.

So if these mythical wide bodies are actually going to show up in the future, shouldn't we have some kind of pay scales in place in the new CBA?

That might waste too much negotiating capital. Might as well have a clause like Southwest that the planes don't fly until a rate is negotiated.
