Thanks in advance for any responses!!!!!

Was referred for the Teterboro 1825 position and just received an email check application status and not it reads 'not hired' oh well.....

I have also applied for the new series of 1825's. Truly want the Dallas region so I will continue to keep my fingers crossed. Is there any way to find out why the 'not hired' happened?

Thanks,

Sorry to hear that news. Don't give up! It is a mystery sometimes.. I've been in for almost 9. Took 5 just to get in the door. I have been trying for over a year now to "try something different". It takes patience, tenacity, and networking..

You could call the manager of the TEB office, and ask him what you could do to improve. That is about it. Chances are, someone with Higher Veteran's preference (10-points for Purple Heart) got selected.
This is not always the case, but fairly common.

I'd also be on the lookout for Government 2181 Series positions. These are "aircraft operation". FAA "Flight Check" for example.

There should be a contact person in the job bid. Call them first.

This could be a start, but realize that many of those contact people are for HR and they won't have the slightest idea why someone was not referred, and if referred, why they weren't hired. I'm not even sure if they would be legally allowed to tell you if they did have that information.

I heard yesterday that the local OKC FSDO had ONE qualified inspector and there were two in training.

True statement! Many FSDO's are understaffed currently. ICT has been doing OKC's flight checks... SAN is also short on Ops side. It is an excellent time to apply for an 1825 slot.

Thank you all for your support. Have filled out the latest 1825's and hope to hear something from them in the near future!

I believe IND will be adding some positions to fill open slots for the region.

Default How many weeks after interview

Hello all, I had an interview for the GA Ops Inspector about 4 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. Any information on how long it takes to be notified either way?

I did check USA Jobs, and it still says "referred"

Thanks for the help

Impossible to say. Some HR departments may be overloaded. Some hiring managers may have lots of candidates and responsibilities/duties in between selecting new employees, in other cases they may have already made a selection and it unfortunately wasn't you. Sometimes the hold up is HR figuring out what grade they should make you an offer for, sometimes there significant safety priorities that "stop" almost everything else in the office for a while. The only way to know is to call. It's usually not a bad thing to call if you know who the hiring manager is. The official offer comes from HR though and managers are usually not allowed to tell you or anyone else who is hired until that offer goes out (manager tells HR who they've selected, HR sends out letter). HR usually tries to call you. They also do a background check before making a firm offer, so sometimes that boggs down the process. Good luck.

^^^ THIS^^^

I agree with JNB and would recommend hanging in there and being patient. The Referral list can remain open/ active for up to 6 months possibly. I would not recommend calling anyone, because that could backfire if the perception is that the applicant is "pestering". You have jumped through several hoops so far, and just need to wait it out. In the mean time, do not hesitate to apply to any other open positions to improve your chances.
