Default 911 dispatcher

Tough choice... either I can go back to another regional making 20k and get furloughed/bankruptcy/strike/etc and get screwed out of my job again... or my friend is looking to get me a job as a 911 dispatcher for the state police and start out making 50-60k with pension, 401k, and full benefits...

There are a lot of other flying options that don't involve going to a regional that pay better than a 911 dispatcher.

Keep in mind too that in most states, you're probably one bad budget year away from seeing your state provided pay and pension cut.

Are you limiting yourself just to pilot jobs within aviation?

Are we actually talking about an ASAP report investigator or did you mean NTSB accident investigator?

I'm unfamiliar with the first job (ASAP), but I have interest in the second job (NTSB) should I ever change jobs to a non-flying position.

I mean ASAP report investigator... it's a job with the specific airline... not the gov't... but like my entire career in this industry... nothing worked out...

Interesting.
I can't imagine reading ASAP reports (meaning the content of the reports - not the fact that you are behind a desk actually reading the reports) would be that.......depressing. Maybe that is just my safety related mind and curiosity.
My niece was a 9-11 dispatcher all through college and still works at it part-time.
After having some conversations with her about the job, it would seem to me to be a more *depressing* job based on what she deals with on a regular basis.
