You mentioned taking a Real Estate course.. I will also suggest taking a Mortgage Loan Originator course to become a Loan Officer.

That will get you working as a loan officer & earning income a lot faster than a Realtor.

Update: Sending in another request to reinstate medical this month. Not feeling all that positive of late about it all, but haven't completely given up.

Still no luck on any other sources of income

Currently none, as AMAS in Colorado has been handling my case.
Our Contract pays for their services and they have direct ties
with those in the FAA responsible for these type of reinstatement
requests.

Well paperwork is off to AMAS after another good Doppler Echo and EKG.

Fingers crossed that the FAA takes a chance on me.

Unhappy Things not Looking up

Well, this month I received my second denial letter from the FAA.
It appears they had shipped off my package to the same
consultant as last year, and naturally, the said consultant took the
safe way out once again, even though I have surgeons and Drs stating
I am fine and they see no reason for me not to be in the cockpit.

This caps off the recent vote by my Union to not pursue any repairs
to the Onerous and Punitive LTD system it has in place. Thanks guys,
enjoy your big payday.

Take a look at USAJobs for FAA Inspector positions (or many other opportunities for vets). If you have a 5 or 10 point Veteran preference you move to the top of the lists. There are many opportunities if you are willing to relocate.

Thanks, signed up over a year ago and have had no responses at all. I fear not having any FAA medical restricts my FAA opportunities.
I do have the 5 point Vet pref included.

I am really surprised I have heard absolutely nothing from any of the three simulator firms at the Miami airport regarding employment as a Sim Instructor.
Applied to all three over a year ago now.

Don't feel to bad, I'm 53 and after 25 years of flying, have been grounded for a small tumor in my head. I supplement a little of my income installing surveillance cameras in homes, fixing iPhone/iPads and grabbing any IT networking morsels that know one else wants. Actually starting to realise that I don't want to go back to working for anyone else again. But do miss flying. Best of luck.

Just read through the thread. Wow that bites!

Given the tons of experience that you have you may want to consider becoming an adjunct professor at ERAU or at one of the many colleges or universities that offer aviation degree programs.

Good luck my man. All the best!
