Default Flight Safety

Wasn't sure where else to post this but here. I interviewed at Flight Safety middle of last month (I don't want to say which location). The interview went great, including the presentation. They gave me a verbal offer on the spot (ground/sim instructor), had me fill out some background check paperwork and go take a drug test.

A week later I had a corporate phone interview, which also went great (I think). Since then, I've heard nothing. I've emailed my contact at the center location and last thursday she said that my file was just waiting review from VP of Operations at Corporate. Going on 5 weeks now since my interview. I am a nervous wreck because I really want this job and I still haven't gotten an official offer.

Anyone have a similar experience? I was under the impression I had this job in the bag, now I'm questioning myself. This is driving me crazy. I don't want to keep bugging FSI, but really 5 weeks after an interview and they still haven't offered me the job?

FSI can be somewhat like corporate/bizav; It often times helps if you know someone, have an in, Etc. Although like GF stated, don't count yourself out yet. Sometimes things happen, like maybe the person you would be replacing is staying on another month, they're swapping out Sims, Etc.

Well I spoke too soon lol. They called me yesterday and sent me my official offer letter, which I accepted. I do have a good friend who works at this location who is a Program Manager. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed at night and actually being able to pay my bills.

Congrats! Any idea how many weekends you'll have to work? I have never attended a recurrent or an initial (that I can remember...) that went on over the weekend, but who knows... Did that question come up during the interview? What was your presentation? Also, do you get holidays off? Cheers!
