Default AA Pilots question

Since most of the AA guys (I believe around 80%) are for keeping retirement age where it is, think a percentage of them will still retire at 60, and maybe even some will bail before it changes this year? Just wondering what some may think..

It will take no more than two contracts before 65 becomes the 'normal' retirement age for pensions at all airlines with a pension. Most pension plans will change with the first contract after the age limit changes. I expect to see United reduce our B/C fund contributions significantly after the change.

Bottom line - most pilots at AA and other airlines will end up working to 65.

I see. So, anyone who was "planning" on getting out at 60 with a decent pension would have to retire early BEFORE the contract goes into effect. Or else, they're pretty much in it for another half a decade, like it or not. Maybe some will do that. Time will tell...
