Default Wishful Thinking

Nope, no sickout. Just **** poor mgt (now there's a surprise). Undermanned, running on red line, 88 hour lines, training dept maxed out and high attrition have all contributed. Toss in a few delays or thunderstorms and you run out of pilots at the end of the month and not enough reserves since they were maxed out a couple of weeks ago. And they gave Rainey a bonus.

I have several friends who work for the regionals. A few of them (high on the senority list) have been "stuffed" with forced flying by their company. 90+ hours of Block flying with 10 days off a month. Early starts and Late releases.

They said that management had picked up flying from another regional. Apparently management offered to pay them time and a half but no pilot is able to take advantage of it because they have no days legally to fly, and any flying they could do would put them over 100 hours a month. It is summer though. It's always like this.

He's right. No sick-out. Just not going to fly anything over what we have too. Hell, its summer and I want to enjoy it too.

That's right. No sick out. Just tired. 90 hours a month will do that to anyone.

No problem here. I'll just stay away from NWA until they figure out how to run a decent airline again. Looks like they have a lot of learning to do.

the article said NW is experiancing a higher than normal sick out rate. Seesm to me if you are flying guys 90 hours a month, the sick out rate will go up. If you fly a few extra days in a month, the odds of you getting sick on a work day instead of a day off increase. Not to mention the fatigue factor which will mean more guys end up getting sick.

Xray, if these guys are being scheduled for 90 hours in the month and over the course of a few lines they get delayed the trip at the end of the month is as good as done because they legally can't fly it.

SAAB, I think you're gonna have a couple extra days off my friend
