Default Delta interviewees held up by shrink

I'm looking for anyone else out there that received a conditional offer from Capt A.W.K. and later got deemed to crazy to work at Delta by the shrink. I know many have been through this process, some later hired and some not. Right now I'm looking for anyone still waiting for the next review board due to happen within the next few weeks. (first week of Oct?) Let's share what we know... Let the rumors fly!

Cleared direct LOONY and hold as published, no EFC but expect direct DAL soon.

A AF guy in my interview class had that happen, still doesn't know the outcome.

Are you saying you got a "You are too crazy to work for Delta" letter? I can't believe that Delta would open themselves up for a lawsuit of that magnitude. I'm sure we would all love to see that on Delta's letterhead for review.

Com'on now. Of course they didn't say it like that. They know the game. What the form letter (approved by the legal department) says is that 'there are issues that remain unresolved with your pschological testing.' The deal is that they have a model profile of what they think a pilot's personality should be. Leadership ability, outspokeness, few close friends, blah, blah blah... If you don't meet the specific profile or more likely are nervous about an interview and are trying hard to look good, you might get hung up. The shrink used to be able to enforce a thumbs down. Now you go to a review board that decides your fate but it takes time as they collect enough to review. Seems like 10 a month is average, that find themselves in this Purgatory.

I know there are others out there in this boat, (C-17drvr, Tankr, for example). We are looking for others. We would like to share rumors and info about our fate, good or bad.

Is it just the AF heavy guys that are getting held up? Or is it across the board?

No but there does seem to be a lot of military guys held up. I know of several fighter guys held up too, AF and Navy. Some got hired later and some didn't. No rhyme or reason except a seemingly disproportionate number of military guys. Maybe the shrink is a tree hugger and this is his way at getting even for the granola crowd.

If you were

High school quarterback
Lead in school play
Prom King
Valedictorian of High school class

Then,

Went to the AF Academy
Gradated in the top 10%
Selected to go to Princeton to get your Masters before Pilot Training,

Then,

Commander Cup winner out of pilot training
DG out of Fighter Lead In
Attended AF Test Pilot School at Edwards
Selected to fly "Something in the Las Vegas area"

Then,

Show up at the interview with:

Family photo of yourself and former Victoria Secret model and kids
Unblemished AF and FAA records documenting ratings and experience
No other show stoppers of any kind.

Then,

Max the tests.

Then,

You will not get hired. Your expectations are too high. You will not be happy and they know it.

Thats OK , with a resume like that, FedEx or UPS will hire you. Hopefully we will start hiring again next year...........Unless you want to go to HKG or CDG

While I don't believe it speaks to your sanity, I think discussing a prospective employer's proprietary hiring practices on a public message board makes a statement about your judgement.
