Just FYI.....

The 888-WE-FLY-AA none rev listing number does have "hours of operation". I believe they are 9:45a-2:00a Central Time. I found this out the hard way when I tried to call last minute for a 8am flight, they were not open to list via the phone number above. This was this past summer, so things may have changed, not sure though.

Just be sure to list ahead of time if your catching an early departure/commute

They still have hours. Another weird thing has been happening to me. I've called the night before to list and then when I show up at the gate, my listing isn't there. The agents luckily believe me that I called to list and take care of me, but it's a little scary sometimes. This seems to happen out of EWR to DFW.

Had that happen before too.

After that first time, I have always asked the AA operator for the 6 letter PNR upon completing the phone listing. On a few occasions over the last few years, I have had a gate agent has tell me that I had not called to list after I had done so the night prior. In those cases, I produced the 6 letter PNR, they were then able to find my listing using the PNR. Being sure to get that 6 letter PNR has saved my butt a few times when at the gate requesting the JS.

All in all, AA has been very good in helping off-line commuters....much appreciated.
