Not sure about letters, but they (People Dept) have started calling for interviews. Congratulations and best of luck to those who get the call.

Let's seee, so that means they'll have to interview....500 times a factor of 9 = 4500 pilots!
Did I do that right??
Which means with six months to go they'll have to interview.....4500 pilots divided by a factor of 6 = 750 pilots per month!
Wow!
Which means with 30, no 20 days to interview per month, they'll have to interview 750 divided by 20 = 37 pilots per day.
Is that doable?
With the new interview periods, the am/pm thing, 18 per session, 4 hours to do it, figure 5 per hour, so 5 rooms, 3 interviewers per so 15 per hour times 4 is 60 interviewers...
Wow! You guys must have a whale of a HR, er, People Dept!!
Oh Wait! Then there's those holidays at the end of the year, which means only 5 months to interview so.....

For the entire year of 2008, champ. You do know that WN has been hiring out of a pool for the last 6 months, right?

I think if you count the poolies, they will only have to interview 100-200 to make 500 for the year.

But that's great math nonetheless.

There seems to be a consistent confusion with the word "hire". Those in the pool are considered hired, but awaiting training. Therefore, when someone writes that they are going to "hire" 500, it could be very confusing.

Don't worry, you can interview again in 12 months.
