Not as easily as you describe. You can't move the days with the company. There are ways to change up your schedule - trade with other pilots, give away your trips/part of trips to other pilots (someone has to actively take it), and then trading with the company (occurs on/after the 25th of the month prior -- non-reserve line holders only) where it is possible you could trade for the days you want - but of course, that depends on trips available and most importantly, coverage on each day.

As a reserve line holder you are pretty much stuck with the line you bid, unless you are doing military duty or training.

Wow, you must be on one of the LTVRF schedules if you've had that much time off. Don't worry, you'll fly more once CAL furloughs a bunch of guys.

OK, sarcasm machine turned off. It just blows my mind that they're talking about furloughs with 90%+ average load factors, JM assignments, CAs flying in the right seat, and schedules like yours. But the sad truth is that management considers the airline adequately staffed as long as we don't cancel any flights. So far, I'm not aware of any cancellations due to pilot shortages.

If guys stopped picking up in open time we would be better. Also, we are in contract negotiations....hardball time.

Just got back from recurrent. To quote the schoolhouse: 'we will believe the airplanes are being parked when we see it.'

I'm projected to be furloughed (<180) yet I was sent to recurrent anyway. Now that's not fiscal responsibility is it?

I'd have to agree with them. The company has been holding these planes over our head for 10 years. Even if they do park them I wouldn't trust what the company says until after the TA is ratified.
