Default Delta August AE

Does anybody know if they have posted the AE or if there is going to be one at all for AUG? Looked around deltanet and can only find info on the May AE. Just curious to see what kind of shuffling there was.

I'm not sure the Crew Resources folks know what's going on right now as far as an AE goes. I've heard there will be another AE but the question of backfilling (yes/no) is what's holding it up. I think they are deciding on what to do with the ATL767 category as it is over staffed at the moment. The question of whether to leave it as it currently is or downsize it to match other aircraft staffing issues is a big one. Also, they are trying to figure out what to do with next summer's schedule. That may necessitate hiring. ACL65 may have better info. to offer on this though.

Fairly good info, but there are a lot of other things going on. If they can wait until early OCT (When they anticipate getting DOJ approval) they can backfill and redistrubute people a lot more efficiently and in one bid versus two or three. There is also a lot of talk of the CVG767 becoming an ER base. It is possible, but they are looking at other alternatives as well. Needless to say: 1) The longer they wait to post it the more options and backfilling there will be
2) With the new 777 sim they can get staffed up with only about four months or so of training. Most guys will have already had TOE on the ER so it will be SOE just to get checked out in the 777. Lot quicker. (At least that is what they have been saying. One trip versus two two)

Thanks for the information. It has been kind of quiet down south as far as the AE is concerned, which usually means one of two things. Either really big or really small. Sounds like if the stars align, we could see a lot of movement making it really big.

Default Dixon

Steve Dixon (sp) was in the crew lounge in ATL last week and said that the AE would probably be in Oct. and that it would be 777 only, no backfill. Possibility of lots of 767-400 FO positions next year. Not sure what they have planned for the 400?

I went from ER to 777 and still had to do 2 TOE's, has something changed?

If CVG were to become an ER base, how do you guys think it would stack out seniority-wise with 767CVG, 767ATL, and 7ERATL?

No nothing changed. It was just something that one of the 777 IOE guys stated. Like I said. What I was told. I thought it weird that he stated it as well.
