Maybe ALPA should be talking to Northwest pilots. Northwest was part of the buyout group, including TGP. The intention was there from the inception of this deal to stop Air Tran from getting their foot in the door with a purchase of Midwest.

Was dismantling Midwest part of the planning by TGP and Northwest.

My wild a$$ guess is that DAL/NWA is calling the shots. Midwest is bleeding cash at a ridiculous rate. This latest move is designed to slow the money hemorrhage and preserve Midwest routes and gates long enough to keep Airtran out. Once DAL/NWA deal closes, they will liquidate the operation, and claim the rights to those routes and gates as payback for their huge investment "gone bad". They can't do that now as it would throw a big anti-trust/competition wrench into the much larger and more important merger investigation at DOJ. Again...pure speculation with no info or proof to back it up. Still a bad scenario for Midwest pilots.

Part of the deal with DOJ allowing NW to partner with TPG was that NW and any successor company (DL) are not allowed to be involved in the actual running of the company. They can only be silent partners. With that said, do any of us really believe it? I do agree that after the merger is complete, DL will divest itself of Midwest. RA alluded to such a thing in the ATL pilot lounge last week.

Republic is not an ALPA carrier, they are Teamsters. I still think that Teamsters and ALPA are in talks, and hopefully they can help derail this disgusting attempt by management to slash the wages of the the hard working men and women that MADE Midwest the great airline it was.

Thanks for setting me straight on the Republic representation. I'm in complete agreement with you over this being a disgusting matter. Just another creative attempt at management trying to bust a union.

No problem And it's extremely disgusting. I can't think about it because it makes me angry. I say Midwest guys burn the place down.

Do you work for Northwest? If you do your company invested money in Midwest Airlines to stop Air Tran's entry into MKE. Northwest did this fully intending on dismantling Midwest and shutting them down in shifts.

You are a gutless individual telling someone else to shut down when you gain personally. You are the quintessential example of alpa as a useless pilots union being part of a problem, not part of any solution.

Yes sir another example of a major airline pilot who worked for nothing to begin their career, but now you are pointing fingers at Republic pilots.

I agree. But will shutting it down help the MEH pilots? No. They get to start all over yet again. You're asking them to play Russian Roulette with what's left of their careers. Pretty easy call for you; not so easy for them.

What the pilots in this industry need is some method of portable seniority, so that management has as much to lose as the pilots. Give those guys a realistic option and they will SHUT IT DOWN. Are you willing to put any of them ahead of you at NWA?

If they don't have a safety net, their never gonna threaten to SHUT IT DOWN.
