...so when they do take the 170s in 18 months, they paint over the "Connect" and replace the "A" with and "E." Cheap and easy.

Sometimes, watching Timmy work reminds of episodes of "Pinky and the Brain." At first, it was TH as Brain, and CS as Pinky. Now, as the plot develops, I think TH is Pinky (a more appropriate role), and Dick Shifter (TPG) is Brain.

"What are we going to do tonight, Tim?"
"The same thing we do every night, Carol -- try to takeover Milwaukee!"

I sit reserve at home many times and enjoy it very much. I don't fly much at all, and it's great. More time with my wife, and sleeping in my own bed.

I've been gone from the regionals for less than a year, but I never applied to a regional that had anything larger than 50 seaters. I wouldn't do it. Can you say the same? That's what I thought.

Maybe 20 years from now CHQ pilots can fly 777 for regional rates. Having quite a few friends over there, I am confident that they would p###s their pants for an opportunity fly the "REALLY BIG JET".

While hiring Republic to fly 12 EMB-170s to replace those 16 returned 717s. So the new fleet for "Midwest" is planned for:

9 717
12 EMB-170 (Republic)
12 CRJ-200 (SkyWest)

Ground services are already contracted out at MKE and almost all outstations. Midwest Connect RJ flying is all contracted. I think this very well may be the first attempt to run an airline with just an HQ and the rest contractors.

The dominos have been tipped.....
Slow death. They do shoot horses you know.

Wow, how easy is it to say something like that after the fact. You didn't choose a regional based on the number of seats their planes held. You probably chose it based on location, money, etc. Lets face it, RAH offered the most opportunity for a new regional pilot through the last few years. How can you blame guys who are looking to move up in their careers as quickly as possible.

No, I chose it based on it's annual reports from the three previous years, in addition to the fact that it was growing. I commuted all three years I was there.

It's kind of hard to move up in their careers as quickly as possible when they go work at a place that is replacing mainline flying.

Maybe TH's original plan was the CRJ! Replace 717 with CRJs -- that sounds like something Timmy would do. What an idiot.
deadstick, the "Connect" is actually a sticker on those RAH E170's.

Oh dear God! Well, I guess that was forward thinking -- obviously not a TH decision. I don't suppose the "Midwest" is a sticker, too?
