Default need of a buddy pass for HKG

Hi Folks,

I am a furloughed 121 guy and I have an interview in HKG on the 9th of sept. I don't have jumpseat privileges on UA or AA anymore but if somebody could help me with a Buddy pass I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

What kind of interview do you have where they won't fly you out? Sounds sketchy...

It's hong kong airlines, they only reimburse 50% of the ticket.

That's why I'd rather spend the least amount of money on that.

What? Can we say professional forum?

You should never have to pay for a ticket to go over seas for just an interview. Secondly if you dont get the job I am pretty sure that they will not reimburse you, even if they say they will.

Different country different rules. From what I gather most if not all Chinese airlines require you to pay for your ticket over to interview (if they dont fly into the US) and then reimburse you within 72 hrs of arriving wether or not you get the job. I know of at least 10 people that have interviewed and all have collected their money from their respective company. Then again a lot of the interviews are 1 week long. I am surprised that Air Hong Kong only pays 50%.

I think we all need to be a bit more sympathetic these days, as we have thousands of experienced aviators running around the streets looking for jobs. Some will have to go to extreme just to find shelter.

Good luck Shogun, sorry i can't help you out. You'll enjoy the hospitality of HK.

I'm sure if one lived in a place that HKA flies to then they would get you a seat. As it is if you want to get a job outside the country you have to get there. Hong Kong Airlines doesn't fly to the U.S. so they aren't going to provide travel. HKA is the Bohemia(sp?) call sign I believe correct?
