What I believe is the ultimate issue (because y'all are truly interested in my unsolicited opinon, right?) is that the Fraudulent Aviation Administration has been taking money out of ALL of our pockets for years with their (in no particular order):
-Incompetence in upgrading the ATC system (read: fuel burn)
-Abhorrent culture for the ATC guys and gals (read: contract and numbnut supervisors, to name two.)
-Capitulation to the ATA (read: FAR duty days/rest periods and the resultant fatigue).
Needless to say, I'm a big fan of ATC with an opposite sentiment in my heart for their boss(es).

He shoots, he scores. You nailed the FAA ATC management there.
As for USMCFLYR and me, I think we were posturing to see who bought the next round.
At O Club rates of course.
